Stain protection for carpets
Stain protection for your carpets and upholstery does not guarantee to protect your carpets or furniture against stains. It does however repel water based stains and liquid spillages giving you more time to mop these up appropriately.
It does not guarantee against wear, tear and general every day soiling.
A professional carpet cleaner should never push you into having stain protection or over sell the benefits. Instead they should be able to explain the realistic benefits.
Be aware that stain protection does increase drying times so you will need to account for that before moving furniture back.
The carpet cleaning operative can't guarantee how long the stain protection will last as areas used more frequently will not remain as protected for as long as areas not used.
